Honor – The Secret to Shifting Culture
Dr. Kibby Otoo was raised in a culture that assigns honor to elders and authority figures. He teaches that honor gives access to unimaginable spiritual and natural success in developing future leaders.
Description
Many cultural norms have shifted in our country. Virtues that were once held in high esteem have seemingly lost such regard in our society. We don’t hear the word Honor often today. It seems like Honor has disappeared from our vocabulary, and it has also disappeared from our daily lives. In fact, dishonor prevails in today’s culture. It has evolved so much that simply honoring others with words like “sir,” “ma’am,” and “thank you” can make people a bit suspicious of motives.
People frequently do not treat each other well on social media, in politics, or on the news. Families are often in turmoil because of a lack of respect between parents and children. Employees are often put down by their employers, and employers are often undermined by their employees. With the world in such a state, it can be tempting to throw up our hands in desperation.
However, the apostle Paul challenges us in Romans 10:12 ESV. “Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honor.
